Please join the ALERT Users Group for a guided bus tour of Yosemite Valley. A guide from Discover Yosemite will be on the bus with us to inform and entertain the group during the drive in and out of the Valley. The tour will include two stops where Park staff will discuss the hydrology and ongoing projects along the Merced River in beautiful Yosemite Valley. The group will also have some free time to explore Yosemite Valley and the Yosemite Valley Lodge area on foot. Attendees should be prepared to walk approximately 1 mile on relatively flat but unpaved paths. The tour stops will be outdoors, and Yosemite Valley weather can be unpredictable in the Spring. Although the average temperature in May is a comfortable 73 degrees, attendees should be prepared with items such as jackets, hats, sunscreen, and sturdy shoes just in case. Please be advised that the drive time from Tenaya on the bus is approximately 1 hour each way on winding roads

2:40 Swinging Bridge Picnic area - restrooms, hydro discussion with Cat Fong (30 min) walk trail to Yosemite Valley Lodge area (0.7 mi, 20 min) – free time to explore valley floor or lodge area

An alternative based on available parking - drop off at Chapel or Yosemite Falls vantage point (no restrooms), discussion at Superintendent's Bridge (30 min), walk trail to Lodge (0.7 mi, 20 min)

4:30 board bus near the lodge for departure

4:45 Discussion of scour project with Michael at El Capitan Bridge (30-40 min total with questions)

5:25 Board bus at El Cap for departure

5:40 Tunnel View on way out of the valley (10 min) – only if running ahead of schedule, drive from El Cap to Tenaya is approx. 1 hour

6:30 Arrive at Tenaya
